Wandelgids StauSeeSteig
€ 19,95
Just across the Dutch border lie several impressive reservoirs. Most of them are located around Aachen in Germany, in a nature area with endless forests, steep rocky slopes, and lively little rivers. The Dutch Mountain Film Festival team traced a 125 km line connecting seven of these lakes, starting in Langerwehe (Germany) and ending at Dolhain station in Belgium. On the StauSeeSteig you are largely on your own, and along the way surprising vistas unfold again and again. The route leads through the notorious Hürtgen Forest and past spectacular dam walls. Passing through Eifel National Park and the marshes of the remote and rugged High Fens, the trail finishes in the idyllic fortified town of Limbourg.
Note: Do not expect a step-by-step route description in this hiking guide. The authors chose a more literary approach, describing the experiences along the way. However, the maps included in this guide are clear and sufficient to complete the trail.
